Rippey News:

Friday night, May 1, Tim, Lori, Roy and Phyllis Bardole drove to Pella to see the play “Appearances” that Gabe was in.  It was enjoyable.  Schyler Bardole and Lauren King went also.  After the performance they took Gabe out to eat before returning home.

After Confirmation Sunday, Pete and Yvette honored Arthur with a taco bar.  Tim, Lori, and Cassie, Roy and Phyllis Bardole attended. Vicki Kerns brought Nick and Rachel’s girls, Zoe and Kara to church and to dinner.  Also attending church were Brad, Megan, and Maddie Sams. They came to eat also.  Before Pete, Arthur, and Avery could eat, they had to weigh in sheep at the Fairgrounds for 4-H.  When they returned, Pete parked the sheep in the shade and they were a neighborhood “draw.”  Cassie also brought her puppy Ozzie and the boys have rabbits, so it was a fun afternoon.

Mother’s Day afternoon Arthur and Avery Bardole had a piano recital at the Catholic Church.  Also attending were Pete, Yvette, and Aden Bardole, Vicki Kerns, from Plover and Roy and Phyllis Bardole.  Very talented musicians! May 11 Tim and Lori Bardole drove to Pella to see Gabe in a “play” or “improv'” like “Whose Line Is It?”  They said it was very good.

Matthew Roberts of Jefferson was a Sunday dinner guest of his parents Phil and Toni Roberts on Mother’s Day. Other visitors that afternoon were Chris and Brenda Roberts of Rippey and Courtney Roberts and daughters Olivia and Emmalynn of Urbandale.  Telephone best wishes for Mother’s Day were extended by daughters Lori Bardole and Wendolyn Burkett. On Tuesday afternoon Toni Roberts and Connie Neese attended the final session of beginning bridge lessons held at the Perry library. Connie is hoping to spark enough interest in starting a local bridge club to be held at the Rippey Library for any interested local players

Dale and Nancy Hanaman travelled to Superior, WI, to celebrate the confirmation of their grandson Steven Pearson at Faith United Methodist Church. His parents, Sarah and Benji Pearson, and his sisters also hosted a belated birthday gathering for Dale’s 70th birthday. They were joined by Matthew Hanaman, Adrianna and Adyara from Rice Lake, WI.

Gary and Mary Weaver traveled to Sioux City to attend the Martha Moreland Music Studio spring recital. Their grandchildren Lauryn and Nathan Basye were among the participants. Lauryn had three pieces, “Come See the Parade”, “Bells of Great Britain”, and “Donkeys Love Carrots”. Nathan played “Five Hundred Year Old Melody”, and “Peter, Peter.” The recital was held at the Sioux City Presbyterian Church and the children were allowed to use a grand piano.
